Overview. In June 2021, Kinross announced a temporary suspension of mill operations due to a fire at its Tasiast mine. Mining activities have resumed at Tasiast, including stripping to access higher grade ore. Kinross expects to re-start the mill in Q4/2021. The Tasiast 24k project remains on schedule to be completed in mid-2023.
